The prize
The Premio Marcello Magni for Theatre is promoted by the Marcello Magni Fund, held at the Fondazione della Comunità Bergamasca.
Objectives of the Premio Marcello Magni for Theatre:
-
To promote and support young artists and new artistic experiences, contributing concretely to the innovation and transformation of artistic languages, in response to a cultural and social context increasingly unable to interact effectively with new generations and to provide them with adequate spaces for action and expression.
-
To place trust in the artistic and creative production of artists under 35, encouraging experimentation that extends beyond established practices.
-
To foster a spirit of inquiry that looks elsewhere and consciously seeks what is not yet visible, beyond familiar and consolidated boundaries.
-
To provide support tools that nurture the energy and determination of young artists, enabling them to project themselves boldly beyond personal and contextual limits.
-
To encourage opportunities in which artistic and theatrical practice is centred on community and relationships, actively promoting dialogue and collaboration among organisers and participants alike.
The Premio Marcello Magni for Theatre, with a total prize fund of €20,000.00, is open to theatrical projects by emerging artists or groups, newly formed companies, or artists engaged in new research paths. The Prize supports the creation of an original and unpublished performance, contributing to the final staging of the excerpt presented during the selection phases.
